I've posted a couple of times on here since I got my badge but I'd thought I'd let you know my opinion after a year.
First and foremost...there is still a very good living to be made out there. I can only base that on previous earnings, but believe me, if you put the right hours in you will earn well.
If you expect to work 9-5 in the cab you may be disappointed...but the fantastic virtue of this job is the flexibility. Throw in a couple of nights, by that I mean work 3pm ish to 2am ish, then see your weekly earnings increase big time.
99% of punters are good as gold. The odd arsehole comes with the territory I'm afraid and it's something only you can deal with at the time.
Getting out there for the first time is extremely daunting. The majority of punters ask you for a street or road. However, having just passed, out you are conditioned to points.....so it takes a while to get used to thinking that way.
The bottom line is that I am thoroughly enjoying the job itself and the money but above all the flexibility. I work when I ,and only I, wanna work !!
DON'T GIVE UP !!!!
Tips.....
It took me 2 years 7 months to get my badge. It took my COP just under 2 years to get his badge.
We both did everything the Wizann way. The runs, both the courses, all the missing pieces & X sections but above all....followed Deans advice to the letter. We didn't attend the school for p2p, only for the beginners & intermediate courses.
Good luck to you all...never give up..and above all...stay safe.
Bob
